Whitestone Baptist Church

Whitestone Baptist Church has been in existence for nearly two hundred years.   It was, at first, the “Strict and Particular Baptist Church of John Calvin” but is now part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.   It was also formally linked with Hereford Baptist Church (Commercial Road) but is now independent.   It is a small Fellowship, comprising about twenty people who meet regularly on a Sunday, plus ten or so others who worship with us from time to time.   Nearly all the people do not live in Whitestone/Withington.

The present Minister is half time officially.   Before her appointment the Church had had no Minister for thirty years.   The Church has been and is served by several retired and lay Pastors, who lead Worship and preach, and come from Hereford and elsewhere in the County.

The Fellowship meets in the Chapel (dated 1821) on the Worcester Road.   The building is Grade II Listed, comprising the original Chapel with attached cottage (not lived in since the 1950’s), two stone sheds/stables and later additions of a brick and timber porch and an outhouse to the cottage.    All stands within the consecrated graveyard and the car park.
