THE WITHINGTON GROUP COMMUNITY-LED PLAN

(CLICK ON TITLE)

Update as at 7 July 2011

The volunteer working group members recently met to discuss the future of the CLP and review the initial agreed priorities.

Most of the priorities have already been achieved or are well on their way to doing so.   We did however pick out several areas which the group decided would need further work to establish some results.

1.    To reinforce the need for a 20mph speed limit on the roads around Withington Primary School.

2.    As part of youth development and following on from the success of the new Withington Fields, establish what the youth of the area would like for future aspirations through development programmes and discussions.

3.    To pursue a volunteer(s) to help with litter picking in the Withies Close and South Bank areas.   A team has already been established along Withies Road and in the new field. Suitable equipment will be supplied.

4.    Establish from the Parish Council what is the scope of work for the Lengthsman and how he can be utilised throughout the three community areas for future work?

The latest priority table can be viewed by following this link.

New members for the group are sought.   We currently have no volunteer representatives for Westhide or Preston Wynne.   We meet twice a year to review the plan and to ensure that all priorities are not forgotten.   If you join, you are not becoming a member of the parish council, but purely a representative voice from the community.

Any help is welcome. Call Steve Caine on 851857.
